With more than 25 years of experience, Judy Pal has served as management and public relations counsel for a diverse range of clients, including public safety agencies, medical associations, government, and the professional sports and entertainment industry. She has held executive command staff positions within police departments for almost nine years and has extensive communications experience dealing with incidents such as homicides and perceived acts of terrorism, as well as handling sensitive, image-threatening issues such as criminal conduct of police officers and international scandal. She has taught leadership management, media relations and crisis communications at the university level and has hosted workshops and media training courses for police agencies, fire services, government agencies, non-profit and professional associations, and retail and business executives. A former broadcast journalist and news anchor; she has a unique understanding of the critical objectives on both sides of the camera. Pal is a past President of the National Information Officers Association, and is a former columnist with Blue Line Magazine, the national law enforcement publication in Canada. She has served as an adjunct professor with San Jose State University in California and Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada; as well as being an instructor with the Institute for Law Enforcement Administration in Plano, Texas and Third Degree Communications out of San Jose, California. She currently serves as Chief of Staff with the Milwaukee Police Department in Wisconsin, after serving on Command Staffs of the Atlanta and Savannah-Chatham police departments in Georgia; and Halifax Regional Police in Nova Scotia Canada. She has obtained her Certificate in Police Leadership from Dalhousie University, along with various certifications in emergency services-related courses, including leadership development, ICS, NIMS, death notification, suicide intervention and domestic violence. She has extensive image development, internal communications, and media training experience, as well as a keen knowledge and passion for crisis communications.
